Kimberly Reynolds asked:

Social networking on Myspace or Friendster is booming as young adults find one another online to chat, post comments, post photos, and share info about the latest happenings in their world. The concept of Myspace, which is basically, a free bulletin board for anyone to create a web site that is all about networking and communicating with friends and creating new friends too is one of the fine cerebral approach of some genius.

With the potential users social networking on Myspace or Friendster is overwhelmed with information. Users create a free account; enter detail information about them and share their site with their friends. Their friends then post comments on the Myspace a reply. Myspace or Friendster is overflowing with different types of information exchange between teens, which may be good or bad. The users with easy to use tools at their administration can have a site, which was earlier thought that only the geeks could use it.

The sharing feature of Myspace or Friendster was initially used for good but later due to the posting of some content that is considered not to be spoken publicly has created the negative side of these sites. Another wrongdoings that have shaken the world of social networking is that the kids post news of a party in their area, to their site. Such postings spread out agitation and hatred within the community quickly. The teenagers who do not think much about its after affects generally make these postings. Some schools and the parents are getting alert to check the same. Schools have implemented rules to put the student run on the correct tract. They are warned that they would be thrown out if they do not clean up their sites. Parents are also trying to become good friends of their children guiding them with their knowledge and keeping watch on all their activities because there are chances to get involved in the wrong activities. Do not let them to access Internet and even if they are allowed to do the same then take care that they do not get involved in wrong doings. Take care that such event can have a fatal ending.

Though there are several negative sides but still Myspace or Friendster proved themselves as one of the hottest social networking sites with nearly 60 million subscribers and was recently bought by a major corporation because of its lucrative target market for advertising income.

Kimberly Reynolds asked:

The website MySpace is a community that has arisen in the last few years above the other social networking websites as a result of being able to fulfill the vacant space left in the networking market which was overlooked by others. This is the bottom line of the success of MySpace. The nature of networking though not so advance as our present day networking is not new but has been around for thousands of years when individuals gathered in communities. The technological advancements have made the dream of bringing people very close to one another from all around the world possible and in an easy way. Several sites Openbc, Orkut, Craigslist, Friendster, and of course Myspace has change the face of networking for social and entertaining purposes.

The loyalty of the website MySpace is the driving force that is enabling the website to dominate the high ranking position in sites like Alexa. MySpace is easy to use, customizable, fluid, multimedia rich and fun place to hang out and these are some of the splendid features that the networking market was craving for. Users of MySpace ranging from preteens, teens, and college age students are driven to this site with the intent of creating a space for themselves on the web, expanding their network for social and entertaining purposes.

One of the most striking features of MySpace is the ability of its skinny layout which is further overlaid with all the important personal information provided by the person creating the site to add flavor to it. Myspace along with visual customization of your site, also provides options for audio that can be utilized in the form of message you leave for visitors of your site or you can add clips from your favorite music. There is another way to punch flavor to your site through the addition of heavy and rich content that reflects your personality, interests, thoughts, and basic views on the world.

In order to develop a connection with those you network with together with a thought of increasing the quantity as well as the quality of networking you are involved, it is best to remember how you benefit them or their site or sharing your perspective on some content they have included. Exercising the principles of MySpace starting from customizing content and building up a unparalleled image, concentrating on adding value to relationships established online and communicating with a long-term view in mind for creating connections with both types that is having common interest and not having common interest associated with time and sincere efforts you applied into MySpace will surely bring bright colors to your life.

Kimberly Reynolds asked:

MySpace phenomenon was initially launched for a file-sharing forum but unfortunately it has to be disbanded in 2001 due to a poor ROI and lack of general consumer interest. Later an UCLA graduate named Tom Anderson wanted to see Myspace as a place where kids could network and form their own communities manifested in a huge way. MySpace today supports a number of media, including videos and images, and is especially popular with teenagers, who use MySpace for several reasons. Kiddy reasons vary from sharing gossip and funny videos, pictures and sites from around the Internet to meeting other teens with similar interests or potential friends within geographic proximity after their classes. MySpace also help these teens to check out prospective dates.

A MySpace page or a Friendster page has some upside and downside. Tremendous amount of information about your teen’s personality and interests are revealed in this page and which is beneficial for their parents. Parents will get to know about their teens friends, interest, activities they are indulge in, and helps the parent to rectify the problems if they find any with their child and encourage their positive activity in a judicious way if they find those activity to be worthy in their future.

Though MySpace is generally safe, but there are prowlers who prowl the Internet with cook profiles to prey. MySpace provides new ways to the teens to interact with their friends of same interest but it also expose teens up to dangers, such as Internet addiction and stalker. Among the various downsides cyber bullying has proved to be fatal in many cases. Teens carry over their rivalry with their friends to online MySpace forum. Next spending too much time online meeting virtual friends and gradually loosing interest in their schoolwork, which is most important in building up their career.

In many ways, MySpace is a mixed blessing for teens but parents should take special care of their teens. They should behave more like a friend than like a typical strict parent. Your strict behavior would do no good to him/her instead your teen will canvass way to escape your queries. Do not be desperate in your approach instead talk with your teen about the potential dangers he/she might expose himself/herself to on MySpace and the Internet in general. There should be a good communication between you and your teen which will help him/her to discourage the ill doing and will help him/her to differentiate between good and evil that will further help him/her in the near future.
